Lakewell Place Senior Living, formerly Lakewell House, on Saturday will be celebrating its grand re-opening.

Enlivant, a large community housing corporation, just acquired the Mineral Wells facility and plans on improving where the previous owners left off, Lakewell Place Executive Director Sabra Mosier said.

The celebration is planned for 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

“They have probably about 2,000 communities in 20 different states, so it’s a big company,” Mosier said. “So, they have gone through, making some wonderful changes.”

Lakewell Place has undergone a total rebranding, but will maintain a familiar face to its current residents as a majority of the staff have remained on board.

A few of the changes residents may begin to notice will be huge, Mosier said.

“They’re talking about getting us a bus in the near future; we don’t have transportation services here,” Mosier said.

The new company is about proper resident, proper place, she said. Some residents require skilled nursing, and Enlivant wants to tend to the needs. “We will not hold anybody here because we want somebody to be able to meet their needs. We are no longer going to be a nursing home’s competition, we are going to be their partner.”

Making things sweeter for the staff, their has also been a bonus structure realignment.

“From management all the way to the caregivers, they all get a part of the bonus structure,” Mosier said.

Current residents can continue to expect “excellent care. We are here to make sure [customers’] loved ones or seniors thrive on living here.”

Lakewell Place ultimately encourages its residents to be independent as long as possible, Mosier said, but is there to step in when needed.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by the Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce with City Council Ward 2

Tammy Underwood, a presentation of the flag by the VFW, a blessing from Mineral Wells Cowboy Church’s Devin Gulliford, an arts and crafts show, educational topics from local health providers, live entertainment, door prizes and refreshments.

The entire community is invited to attend.
