Silver Notes keep busy schedule

The Silver Notes will be performing Monday at the Mineral Wells Nursing Center after morning rehearsal and lunch. Anyone who wishes to join this merry band is welcome to come for the Monday rehearsals each week and then to accompany the group to the scheduled performance venue at one of the retirement/residential homes in town.

Next week they will be singing for and with the residents at the Crazy Water and the following Monday at Lakewell House. Think about joining in on the pleasure of singing good old gospel songs at the same time you get an uplifting experience in entertaining others. Rehearsals are, as always, at 10 a.m. each Monday at the center.

The monthly Health Check Day is scheduled for Tuesday, the 13th, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. No appointment is necessary, and very little waiting is required. If there is a short wait, there is coffee, reading material and conversation just waiting for your attention. No charge, of course for the blood sugar screening, the blood pressure check or any other service the nice folks from Mineral Wells Medical Supply and the big-hearted ladies from PPGH Home Health personnel. Just come get in line.

Each Wednesday, Cathy Torres, geriatric social worker, can be seen, by appointment, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Either before or after your appointment there are a bunch of fun things to do, beginning at 9 am. with Silver Sneakers for your morning workout session, or you can sit in on a Bingo game between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. If your appointment is in the afternoon, come early, listen to Eddie Gilley sing and watch him swing and have lunch after he finishes in the tree. And if you have good eyesight and nimble finger, there is a chair for you with the Willing Workers Hand quilting group from 9 a.m. to noon. That can be a busy day!
