Silver Notes keep busy schedule

The Red Hat Ladies will meet at the center at 11 a.m. on Thursday, the 15th. No telling what will follow, but with Sherri Friend as hostess, don’t be surprised. One thing is sure ... it will be fun! If the shenanigans last until 3 p.m., you can attend the game time activities – bridge, dominos and pool – and have some light refreshments if you need a pick-me-up. That will last until 6 p.m., and then it will be time to go home.

Friday, the 16th, from 9:30 a.m.-noon, is Acupressure Therapy time with Patricia Pilgram, R.N. It was reported last week that she would be adding an additional session each month, but that is not the case at this point. Call for an appointment before coming for a visit.

Little has been mentioned lately in this column about lunch specifics. To remedy that, know that lunch reservations are required, that there is a suggested donation of $3.50 per meal, except on fried fish day, which is $4. Weekly meal cards may be purchased for $15. If there is nothing you desire on any specific day, there is the availability of having a chef salad at any lunch, providing the request and reservation has been made at least one day prior.

These meals are all prepared with nutrition, flavor and cost in mind, with nutrition in the forefront.  They tend, also, to lean toward food that we have eaten and enjoyed for a large part of our lives. To demonstrate: the next birthday party lunch is smothered pork chops, sweet potatoes, green beans, wheat bread and birthday cake and ice cream. Yum-yum!
