This week will be a short news week, due to the Thanksgiving holiday and early closing of the center. Nevertheless, there are some very important goings-on during this time that you won’t want to miss.

For the remainder of November and all of December, the annual Avon fundraiser will be busy and convenient. Lisa Clutts and the Avon people have created a virtual store of their products within the center. For items that are not to be found on the tables, catalogs are provided for ordering gifts and products to be delivered before Christmas.

This is the seventh consecutive year that this convenient means of Christmas shopping has been offered through the Center, with the added aspect of Avon sharing with the center a specific percentage of the sales. This is a great opportunity to get two good things done at once – buy gifts for family and friends and, in doing so, contribute to the operating funds of the center.

The week’s activities start out with the Silver Notes bringing Ho-Ho-Ho to Lakewell House, as well as the inspiring and beautiful hymns of praise of the birth of Jesus and His holiness. Monday, the 23rd, at 10 a.m., the festivities will begin. You are welcome to join the group in singing.

Monday evening at 5:30 p.m., the November meeting of the CTSCTF Board of Directors will convene at the center for a short business meeting and the various reports of activities for the month. The public is not only invited to be present, but are also encouraged to provide input as well.

For the next two days, the 24th will assume the daily activities as usual, Exercises with Brenda Lee at 11 a.m., Craft Time from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., dealing with choice of beading, jewelry, paper crafts, crochet and knitting. Something for everybody. Then on the 25th, the Silver Sneakers will exercise from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., the Willing Workers will do hand quilting from 9 a.m. to noon, with the Bingo folks doing their thing from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.. That is sponsored by IntegraCare, of course.

Finishing up the morning activities will be our own Eddie Gilly Singin’ and Swingin’ before lunch. The afternoons of both those days will feature game time as usual.

The following two days will see the Center closed for Thanksgiving, with resumption of activities on Monday, the 30th. Plan accordingly.
