George and June Croushorn will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Monday, Jan. 11th.
They were wed Wednesday, Jan. 11th, 1956. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 1953 (where he was in advanced Air Force ROTC), George was stationed at Wolters Air Base in Mineral Wells, Texas. There, he met June at the East Side Dairy Queen in September of 1955. Soon after their marriage, George was sent overseas (during the Korean War), and would not return until August of 1957.
Following the military, George began working for the Texas Employment Commission. He would stay there until his retirement 37 years later. June was a civilian worker for the Department of Defense at Fort Wolters, and would later retire as an employee of Mineral Wells ISD.
They have two children – Sharon Puckett and husband Jerry, and Stacy Croushorn. They have one granddaughter, grandson and step-grandson: Erin Hoover and husband Trey (who also married on Jan. 11th), Alan Davis, and Jason Puckett and wife Leta. They have three great-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren: Joshua, Lauren and Matthew Hoover, and Jerryn, Luke, Robeli and Brett Puckett.
God has blessed June and George with their beloved families throughout Texas, and extended families in Indiana and Virginia. They both love the Lord and are longtime members of Salesville Baptist Church, where they have served in a myriad of positions over the years and are still active members. They love their church family, friends, and neighbors and thank the Lord for blessing their lives with such wonderful people.
