David and Karla Chamberlain will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 13, with a reception at the Gordon Community Center.
The celebration is scheduled to take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friends and family are invited.
David and Karla Jean Kostiha married July 3, 1965, at First Methodist Church in Gordon. Rev. Elmer Glazner officiated, and attendants were Tommy and Madge Turner and Buddy and Dortha Talley.
David retired from Enserch Corporation in 1997 after 35 years’ service, and Karla retired in 2011 after a 45-year career in education as a teacher, counselor and librarian. She spent her last 22 years as a teacher in the Palo Pinto ISD.
They both spent more than 20 years in public service. David served on the Gordon ISD School Board, while Karla served on Mingus City Council. During their marriage, they lived in Mingus, San Angelo, Ranger and Gordon.
The couple has two sons, Frank Chamberlain of Stephenville and Christopher Chamberlain of Gordon.
