Carrie Georgiana Denniston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip L. Denniston Jr., of George West, Texas, and New York, and Robert Louis Kostiha, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Kostiha, of Gordon, were married at 4 p.m. on May 24, 2015.

The outdoor ceremony was held at Encino Grande, the home of the bride’s parents, with Brent Dawson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Strawn, and friend of the groom, officiating the ceremony. Music was performed by Chisum Mills, of Alice, Texas, on fiddle, with an accompanying guitarist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride walked down the aisle to Mills playing “Unchained Melody.” The bride wore a strapless, A-line organza gown designed by Theia, topped with a handmade, off-the-shoulder, three-quarter sleeve lace bolero and a fingertip veil over her long, loose curls. Her sunflower bouquet was made by her sister, Daphne. The couple recessed to the song, “I Saw the Light.” An at-home reception immediately followed, catered by Brush Country Catering of Three Rivers, Texas.

Out-of-town guests included the bride’s family and friends from California, one being the bride’s grandmother, Georgiana Denniston, who said a special blessing for the couple before dinner.  Other friends and family of the bride and groom in attendance traveled from Chicago, Michigan, New Mexico, North Texas and Corpus Christi, Texas.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Homemade Kitchen Events Center on U.S. Highway 281 South in George West on Saturday evening, featuring a fajita buffet. All of the couple’s family members and out-of-town guests were invited.

The bride graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder and holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature/Creative Writing. She is employed by Work Loss Data Institute, a nationally recognized medical publishing house.

Kostiha studied through the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of North Texas and the Independent Electrical Contractors, Dallas Chapter. He works as an instrument and electrical technician for Brazos Electric Power Cooperative Inc., and is also the sole proprietor of his own business, Kostiha Electric, in Palo Pinto.

Following a honeymoon trip to Cancun, the couple is residing in their newly purchased lake house on Lake Palo Pinto.
