Doorway challenge

Mineral Wells Index

— The Mineral Wells Junior High Outdoor Education Class has been working on team building the past several weeks.

To end the unit, Coach Taylor Tomlin greeted the students with a challenge to start the class. He met the students in the hallway and had the doorway covered with paper. He cut a hole in the paper that about 2x2 and about 3 feet off the ground.

The students were told they would have to get themselves and their belongings through the hole before class would begin. They were given 2 minutes to discuss a strategy. They got graded as a class on the challenge.

For every inch they ripped the paper, a point was taken off their grade (but he was actually pretty generous). Each class made an ‘A’ on the activity, and they loved it.
