Mineral Wells Index
Instead of conducting its last Academic Awards Assembly, all Mineral Wells Junior High School students who averaged 90 and above during at least one of the first five six-week grading periods were invited to attend “A Day at the Park.”
Three hundred and thirty-three students qualified. This was about half of the student body at MWJH, which is the largest number of students to attend since this program began 15 years ago.
The students traveled to the Mineral Wells Activity Center and City Gym for the day. There were many activities for the students to enjoy. The students were able to play basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball and skateboarding. In the Recreation Hall, there was an obstacle blow-up and dancing.
