GARNER – Garner’s Junior High Choir has been invited to perform during the Colorado Music Festival held each spring at Winter Park, Colo.
The festival brings together bands, choirs, and orchestras from across the United States to compete for a variety of awards.
The Garner Choir and individual vocalists have gained a reputation for excellence throughout the North Central Texas region in a short period of time. In only its second year of existence under the direction of Julie Troutwine, the Garner Choir program has stood toe-to-toe in UIL competitions with long-established and reputable programs in Granbury, Crowley, Burleson and Stephenville.
The Colorado Music Festival will be the Garner Choir’s first opportunity to represent the local community in an out-of-state choir competition. They need your support to assist in covering the travel expenses associated with participation in the festival. You can help in this endeavor while enjoying a deluxe breakfast at Applebee’s in Weatherford on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children. Children under 5 years old are free. You will get a chance to meet each choir member as they serve your breakfast.
More information about breakfast at Applebee’s or any additional ways to donate to the choir to help them achieve their Colorado Music Festival goal can be obtained by contacting Troutwine at firstname.lastname@example.org or Lacey Nelms at (940) 682-4251, ext. 106.
