Local students participate in WMTA Spring Solo Festival

On April 20, the Weatherford Music Teachers Association sponsored their annual spring solo festival at Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church.

Over 100 pianists from Parker and Palo Pinto counties performed two memorized solos for judges from the Metroplex area, and received ratings ranging from Excellent to Superior.

Those students who received top honors (Superior Plus rating) were invited to perform on one of two Honor Recitals held during the festival, and they received a purple ribbon and trophy.  Student performers were Autumn Andrews, Angela Antoine, Daniel Antonie, Rashita Babu, Sophie Bailery, Katie Blackburn, Seth Bullard, Jaelle Carlson, Jeremiah Carlson, Brady Coates, Kirra Crawford, Richard Famer, Hannah Fay, Charlotte Floyd, Kirsten Jones, Sarina Joshi, Sarah Ladehoff, Caleb McCarty, Claire McCarty, Jeannie Miller, Galina Novak, Catie Odom, Kevin Pradez, David Sawyer, Morgan Sehnem, Jacob Sherman, Joel Sonnier, Jacob Teichmann, Luke Trager, Will Trager, Zachary Tubbs, Hannah Walker, Holden Walker, Sarah Bea Willoughby.  

Other Superior Plus winners were Elizabeth Allanach, Rebekah Brown, Claire Brownlee, Maddy Comtois, Grace Hough, Jenna Mance, Sarah Mooney, Ryan Teichman, Bendan Tillman, Harrison Tillman, Tristan Tillman, Brody Westbrook, and Allison Wilson.

Teachers who prepared these students included Paul Andrews, Stacy Andrews, Kathy Briggs, Kathryn Hamilton, Holly Hughes, Russell Hughes, Emily Laney, Susan Smith, Kriszta Tubbs, Susan Wester, and Elizabeth Wynne.
