Upbeat musical Suessical slated for Monday and Tuesday

Close to 70 Travis Elementary students have worked on props, sets and rehearsals for the musical “Seussical Jr.”

Make plans to attend one of the performances, which take place at the Mineral Wells High School auditorium on Monday and Tuesday, April 29 and 30, at 7 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door, $5 for adults and $3 for students.

The musical is based on the works of Theodor Seuss Geisel, or “Dr. Seuss,” and weaves together his most famous tales and characters in unexpected ways. Throughout this musical the audience will enter the world of beloved Dr. Seuss characters from over 15 of his famous books.

The production is packed with upbeat music and choreography that will be certain to put a smile on viewers' faces, and organizers say it is “an opportunity you don't want to miss.”

The students have dedicated their time and talents to this exciting production. Directing the cast of 70 kids are Cody Jordan and Melanie Stubblefield. Debra Strandberg has worked as set designer/stage manager.
