Out and About in Perrin: Cleanup, plays & ball games

By Kay Mealio

The Perrin Baptist Church will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday, March 27, following the Wednesday meal.

Perrin High School will be performing "Now that April's Here" for the district UIL One Act Play competition in Ranger on March 23.

We attended the community showing of the One Act Play and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are wishing all these students good luck in their competition.

"Clean Up Perrin" is Saturday, April 6. Time to bring trash is from 8 a.m. until the dumpster is full or 12 noon. If you need help call 798-9246. No tires, paint cans or electronics can be taken.

The Pirate track team will go to the meet at Jacksboro on Thursday, March 28. The Junior High track team will compete in Chico for the district meet on Thursday, April 4.

The Pirate baseball team will have four home games in a row, first hosting Windthorst on Friday, March 22; Petrolia on Tuesday, March 26; Bryson on Friday, March 29; and finally Archer City on April 2.

The Perrin softball team will travel to Windthorst Friday, March 22. On Tuesday, March 26, they play at home against Bryson. Friday they travel to Archer City.

On Sunday, March 24, the Perrin Baptist Church will have a "Take Home Meal - Youth Fund Raiser."

Easter break for the school is Friday, March 29.

Thought for the week: America is the only country in the world where it takes more brains to make out the income tax return than it does to make the income.

Dissection of notes found in the pocket of an old suit isn’t easy. Maybe they were scrawled during the lull in a wedding ceremony, or to jog my memory of a joke for later use.
