Toddler reportedly struck by car Sunday

A 3-year-old girl was taken to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth by air ambulance Sunday evening after she was reportedly run over by a car in southeast Mineral Wells.

According to police reports, Mineral Wells police were dispatched along with Mineral Wells EMS to the 1200 block of S.E. 19th Street in reference to a child that was allegedly hit by a car.

The child’s mother was driving a green 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix onto S.E. 12th Avenue from S.E. 19th Street when she reportedly told officials she saw her daughter lying in the street.

Mineral Wells police officials said the case is still under investigation.

Wreck injures woman
A Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was involved in a collision Friday evening after a Mineral Wells woman reportedly failed to yield to a stop sign.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety report, the collision occurred at 7:25 p.m. when a 2000 Dodge Neon traveling eastbound on S.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street collided with a southbound 2006 Ford pickup truck on S.E. 25th Avenue. A Palo Pinto County sheriff’s deputy drove the pickup.

The Dodge Neon was driven by Darla Brimhall, 43, of Mineral Wells, who was transported by air ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Brimhall was issued a citation for failure to yield to a stop sign.

Burglary
• 1000 block of S.E. 18th Street – A 2003 Ford pickup was reported burglarized Saturday with entry made by breaking out the passenger window. A Kenwood stereo valued at $300 was reported stolen from the dash.

Arrests
The Mineral Wells Police Department reported making the following arrests:

• Chad Michael Brown, 33, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Monday for possession of a prohibited weapon – brass knuckles.

• Marvin Antonio Burkett, 17, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Monday for possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

• Sheldon Ray Burns, 22, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday on a MWPD traffic warrant.

• James Edward Cobb, 30, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday on a Parker County probation violation warrant for driving while intoxicated.

• Matthew Michael Grottalio, 21, of Weatherford, was arrested Saturday for no driver’s license, no insurance and expired inspection.

• Richard Joseph Hires, 27, of Graford, was arrested Monday on a Jack County probation violation warrant.

• Johnny Rounell Johnson, 29, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday on a parole violation warrant.

• Richard Daniel Judge, 21, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday for no driver’s license and no insurance.

• John Howard Mueller, 41, of Broken Arrow, Okla., was arrested Saturday on a Grayson County warrant for theft by check greater than $20 and less than $500.

• Daniel Lee Ortiz, 19, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Sunday for no driver’s license-enhanced to a Class B misdemeanor.

• Gary Dean Stephens Jr., 21, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Monday for no driver’s license, no insurance and speeding 71 mph in a 50 mph zone.

• David Ralph Wilson, 44, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday on a Runnels County warrant for harassment.
