Three area races decided Saturday

Around the county Saturday, residents have the chance to make their selection for city council, hospital board or school board members.

Polls are open Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations for the following races:

Mineral Wells ISD

The lone polling site is Mineral Wells High School, 3801 Ram Blvd. (enter the front of the school). Parking, including handicap accessible parking, is available in front.

Voters can choose one candidate each for two at-large places.

Place 6

• Pat Bazzell – Farm Bureau Insurance agency manager and agent.

• Ray Garcia – U.S. Postal Service clerk.

• Clarence Holliman – City of Mineral Wells mayor, retired educator.

• Ellen Starr – Fort Worth ISD assistant principal.

Place 7

• Joel Hardeman – PECO-Facet Warehouse Supervisor.

• Rodney Henderson – Mineral Wells Bank of America’s market president and banking center manager.

• Mike Hopkins – HKS Inc. Healthcare Division architect.

City of Graford

Graford Lions Club, 117 N. Main St. (corner of Powell Street and North Main) – also the site for Graford ISD school board election.

Graford residents will vote for two at-large city council seats from three candidates, which include newcomer John Altum and incumbents Eddie Nowak and Alice Sain. Since he was the only resident to run for the mayoral seat, Mayor Carl Walston will stay in place.

Graford ISD

Three locations:

• Graford residents – Graford Lions Club at 117 N. Main St.

• Possum Kingdom east side residents – Possum Kingdom Lake Lions Club at 142 LaVilla Road.

• Possum Kingdom west side residents – Westlake Chapel at 701 Highway 1148.

Voters have a choice of selecting two candidates from a pool of four. These include newcomers Cole Hargrove and Brandi Larson and incumbents Jakie Long and Hal Brown.

Gordon ISD

Gordon ISD school library at 112 Rusk St. and Mingus City Hall at 229 South Mingus Blvd.

Voters will select three of four dcandidates to fill three at-large seats on the GISD school board. Candidates include incumbents Eli Stockstill and Jimmy Hunt and newcomers Kirby Wigington and Brett Trigg.
