MINGUS – A one-vehicle rollover early Sunday morning resulted in the death of a Gordon man and the reported injury of two other men.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety reports, a 2006 Dodge pickup was traveling northbound at 1:57 a.m. on State Highway 108 2.5 miles northwest of Mingus when the incident occurred. DPS reported the truck left the roadway on the right side when the vehicle overcorrected.

The truck left the roadway on the left side and proceeded to roll, ejecting 32-year-old Paul Lewis Vaughn, the troopers reported. The two other occupants, identified as Christopher Russell, 30, of Eastland, and Zachary Mallory, 21, of Strawn, were reported injured. None of the vehicle’s occupants were listed as wearing their seatbelts.

Vaughn was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Charlie Hodgkins Jr., officials reported. Russell was taken by ambulance to Eastland Memorial Hospital where he was listed in stable condition as of Monday afternoon. Mallory was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth; his condition was unavailable.

According to DPS reports, officials don’t know who the driver of the vehicle was or what other factors, if any, contributed to the wreck.
