Addiction Recovery Ministries is planning a unique fundraiser with proceeds going toward the purchase of a new outreach facility.
“We’re raising all the money for the women’s shelter out on the base,” said ARM Director Ted Oliver.
In addition to furniture, artwork, jewelry and many other items available for auction, the raffle fundraiser will feature several big ticket prizes.
The raffle will take place Saturday, June 8, at the Fellowship Hope Center, located at 6364 Farm-to-Market South in Lone Camp. The auction will begin at noon with raffle drawings to follow beginning at 2 p.m.
The grand prize, a 1923 Ford Model T Roadster, will be given to one lucky ticket holder. Just 200 tickets, going for $100 each, will be sold.
According to Oliver, discussions are under way to add at least one more vehicle prize to the event.
Oliver said the facility in Lone Camp is another outpost of the organization, calling it “our southwest ARM division.”
He said he is excited to add the women’s center to the growing ministry.
“It will probably take three months [to complete] because we have to do some renovations inside to make sleep cubicles,” he explained.
The new facility will serve primarily single mothers recovering from addiction, Oliver added.
ARM acquired the women’s center last December.
