New Cowboy Church program teaches youth rodeo basics

By CHRIS AGEE | cagee@mineralwellsindex.com

The first annual Rodeo Bible Camp at the Cowboy Church of Mineral Wells kicked off Tuesday evening as professionals taught local students various rodeo skills.

Pastor Devin Gulliford, who has led the church since last December, said he is excited to offer this unique experience.

First- through sixth-grade students are invited to the event, he said, and those interested can still register for classes tonight and Friday, which last from about 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Currently meeting at the Palo Pinto County Livestock Association Expo Center, 800 Farm-to-Market Road 1821, Gulliford said students will receive hands-on training from rodeo professionals including a barrel racer from Colorado and a roping cowboy.
