Zonta Club presents ‘Sip, Shop and Socialize’

By LIBBY CLUETT

The Zonta Club of Mineral Wells will inaugurate a new event Thursday evening, called “Sip, Shop and Socialize.”

On Thursday, Nov. 14, 5:30-8:30 p.m., close to 30 vendors will be on hand at Holiday Hills Country Club, selling items like jewelry, accessories, handbags, gifts, clothing and more. Dubbed the “ultimate soirée,” admission is free.

Vendors include: 31 Bags, Texas Flair Painting, I Scent U!, Blessed Signs, Hello Yellow Boutique, Mary Kay, Merle Norman, Ace Hardware, Cole’s Flowers, The Bead Barn, Optical Depot, Expressions Hair Salon and many more, according to Zonta President Dacey Malone.

Malone said this is the first year for Zonta to present Sip, Shop and Socialize, which is intended to promote local women in business.

“Everyone is local,” she said.

“Attendees will be able to shop, while having a glass of wine and socializing all in one,” Malone added. “Where else will women be able to do their favorite things all at the same time.”

For additional incentive, Zonta will give out door prizes “at least every 15 minutes,” Malone noted, adding that there are about 30 items to give out in three hours, including a $185 pair of BCBG ladies’ sunglasses, as well as services and more.

“If the event is as successful, as we think it will be, Zonta hopes to make it an annual event,” she said.
