MW Rotary Club offers flag placements six times a year

What better way to show love and support for America than flying the U.S. Flag in front of your home?

With the Mineral Wells Rotary Club’s American Flag Subscription Program, it can be done easily on six special occasions each year, with an added good cause.

Monies from the flag subscription service go toward the local Rotary club’s scholarships and community service projects.

An annual contribution of $42 will result in having a Rotary club member place a 3-by-5 American flag on a 10-foot pole in your yard the mornings of President’s Day, Flag Day, 9/11 Patriot’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day. The flag pole will be inserted into a sleeve placed 12 inches from the curb, and below lawn mower height. The flags are retrieved a sunset those days. In the event of rain on those days, the flags will be displayed the following Sunday.

With four of those six special days left in the current year, residents wishing to participate will be charged $28, or $7 for each of the remaining special holidays.

With Flag Day on June 14, residents wishing to sign up should do so by early next week to allow time for installation of the sleeve. To sign up, or for more information, contact Dale Brown at 940-325-1585 or Jack Jackson at 940-325-0257.
