Brought to the Mineral Wells Animal Shelter as a stray, this week’s Pet of the Week is an Aussie heeler mix who gets along well with people and other dogs.

With blue merle coloring on her body and red merle on her legs, Betsy’s colorful coat allow her to stand out from the pack.

Staff members say she is likely house trained and keeps her quarters neat and tidy.

Her breed mix is described as very loyal and she is recommended for any family – with or without children.

A friendly dog of about three years old, her medium size makes her a good fit for a variety of households, though shelter staff say she does need frequent exercise.

Anyone interested in determining if Betsy is the right pet is invited to visit the shelter at 101 Farm-to-Market Road 2256 and spend some time with her. An affectionate personality and eagerness to please make this dog a contender for any family looking for a new companion.

To adopt Betsy or any of the shelter’s various animals, call the Mineral Wells Animal Shelter at (940) 328-7752. The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
