Mineral Wells Woman's Club

Mineral Wells Woman's Club met on April 2 for their noon Membership Tea and program. The Membership Tea is an annual event to celebrate membership for the coming year. Shirley Ellis directed the foods and Jonni Crum decorated the tables for the event. The program was an overview of what the Woman's Club has been doing and what some of its goals for the coming year will be.

The Woman's Club Bridge Tournament was held March 28. Wanda Reddell directed the bridge tournament and Shirley Ellis directed the food and service. There were players from Fort Worth, Arlington and Weatherford among the locals. Everyone was pleased with the day.

There were door prizes supplied by some of the local merchants and prizes for first, second, and third prize winners. Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible. It is a fundraiser to help keep the Woman's Club going.

Another fundraiser going on now is the Woman's Club Cookbook.  We have not had a cookbook published in 12 years. This one will have over 230 recipes and stories about some of the recipes. You will find it to be a great keepsake and a gift all year round.

Pre-order your book by sending $15 to Mineral Wells Woman's Club, P.O. BOX 413, Mineral Wells, TX 76068.  Please add COOKBOOK on the description line of your check.  If you want it shipped, add $2.95.

Be sure to give us your address.  Otherwise books can be picked up at the Woman's Club when they are in.  It may be August or September, but well worth the wait.

Readers are reminded that rental of the building is possible for small weddings, receptions, showers or meetings.  Contact Tammy Bryant at 817-937-8120 for details or come by the Woman's Club building Monday or Friday from 2 to 4 p.m.
