The Blue Bonnet Garden Club met recently for its regular monthly meeting. The hostess, Bebe Smith, chose to meet in the Old School Pizza Company’s patio room. There was plenty of room for parking and the room was big enough that the tables could be arranged to facilitate getting their project accomplished with more ease.
After a good lunch of pizza, salad and ice cream, the ladies wasted no time putting together over 150 tray favors for Meals on Wheels. Willie Mae Hubbard’s daughter was instrumental in getting the pens and note pads donated for this worthy cause.
There was a short business meeting to collect dues so that the club’s monthly pledge to Meals on Wheels and the Buddy Pack program could continue.
Trell Taylor read the minutes of the last meeting and they were approved.
Birthdays were recognized for Trell Taylor and Betty Tefft.
Thirteen members were able to be present and Coy Willis, husband of Kay, and Bob Smith, husband of Bebe, were valuable helpers carrying in and out all of the supplies needed for the tray favors.
Purchasers of new cars should ask if their dealership contributes at the time of the sale to your favorite charity. Some dealerships do, so be sure to ask and designate the charity and town.
