First State Bank Chairman of the Board John Ritchie recently announced that Riley C. Peveto has joined FSB as its senior vice chairman, president and CEO.
Peveto was most recently chairman and CEO of GNB Bancshares, parent company of GNB Financial, a $250 million community bank in Gainesville, Texas. In addition to GNB, Peveto served on the boards of Texas United Bancshares, Gateway National Bank-Dallas and Northwest Bank-Roanoke.
During his career, Peveto served on the board as well as chairman of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and on the board as well as chairman of The Independent Bankers Bank Irving.
He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University and is married to Betty Pemberton Peveto.
In related news, Ritchie announced that Clark Peveto of Fort Worth has joined the boards of Mineral Wells Bancshares Inc. and First State Bank. Clark is managing director of investments at Wachovia/A.G. Edwards securities, a TCU graduate and is married to Christy. They are the parents of three children - Emma, Cade and Riley.
Also, it was announced M. Leon Groves of Mineral Wells was named executive vice president and senior lending officer. Mr. Groves has been an executive officer at First State Bank for the past 16 years. Prior to joining First State Bank, Groves was with NCNB (now Bank of America) Mineral Wells, Peoples National Bank-Winters and Farmers National Bank-Seymour.
Groves has been active in Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, Holiday Hills Country Club, United Way, Brazos Foundation and Palo Pinto County Municipal Water District.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agri-business from Texas Tech University and is married to Jerrye. Their son, Shane, resides in Austin.
Ritchie also announced that Brad Wilkerson has joined First State Bank as vice president and executive officer of the bank’s Possum Kingdom Lake office. Wilkerson most recently served as vice president and branch president of American State Bank-Weatherford and branch manager of Citibank-Mineral Wells.
The civic activities of Wilkerson include United Way treasurer, Chamber of Commerce board member, MWACC Economic Development Committee and Rotary Club officer. He is a graduate of Central State University in Edmond, Okla., where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Wilkerson is married to Kelly, principal at Houston Elementary.
