The Miss Palo Pinto County Livestock Association Queen and Princess contest is held annually to select two young ladies who have the desire and enthusiasm to serve as goodwill ambassadors for the PPCLA.
The queen’s and princess’ primary duty is to promote PPC throughout the year, locally and within the market area by traveling for the PPCLA.
Eligible candidates for the princes category fall between the ages of 12 to14 as of Jan. 1.
Eligible candidates for the queen category fall between the ages of 15 to 21 as of Jan. 1.
The princess will receive a saddle, breast collar, head stall, buckle, crown, sash and halter.
The queen will receive a $500 scholarship, saddle, breast collar, head stall, buckle, crown, sash and halter.
All participants will receive a contestant sash among other various prizes.
Awards are subject to change with committees’ approval without notice.
Other awards include:
• Miss Congeniality.
• And First Runner Up (queen only).
• Must be single.
• Never have been married.
• May not become married during her reign.
• Must have no children, nor become pregnant.
• Must be enrolled in school.
• Must be UIL eligible.
• Must have no felonies.
A meeting will be scheduled for Feb. 23 at the PPCLA Expo Center. Should this date change for any reason the chairwoman will contact each contestant. Contestants must be present if they with to run for queen or princess.
