Roundup offers variety of ranch-themed entertainment

Tickets are available at a number of local businesses for an upcoming Texas Frontier Trails event known as the Goodnight Roundup.

According to information from TFT Secretary Sharon Southern, the event will be held in Texas Frontier Trails Western Heritage Park, formerly Pollard Park, on April 14, and will consist of a variety of activities.

A primary goal of the event will be honoring local ranches and the Goodnight Roundup will coincide with Ranch Heritage Day, which will include sharing the history and legacy of participating ranches.

Gates open at 10 a.m. and attendees will be able to observe a chuck wagon competition and a dutch oven cooking demonstration by Kent Rollins, an award-winning cook and western humorist.

Additional activities scheduled include a mechanical bull ride and live music.

Tickets are $20 and include admission, dinner, and entertainment.

According to Southern, a barbecue dinner will be served at 5 p.m. and, in addition to Rollins, entertainment will include a number of live performances by artists such as Adam Hull and Jeremy Martin.

Anyone interested in attending can purchase tickets by calling the TFT office at (940) 327-8386, Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce at (940) 325-2557 or by contacting Southern at Palo Pinto County Farm Bureau Insurance at (940) 325-9412.
