Noah’s Ark Thrift Store is getting into the back-to-school spirit with an event Saturday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to help families get growing children properly outfitted before school begins – Aug. 26 for many area districts.
The non-profit resale store, which benefits and gives back to the Palo Pinto County community, has many clothing items for teens, much of which is “gently used,” according to volunteer Debbie Lindley.
At the Back-to-school event, the store will feature its many clothes, for kids in pre kindergarten through high school
“We have a lot of really nice T-shirts,” she said, including college and professional sports team Tees, as well as concert T-shirts and some Mineral Wells sweatshirts. Lindley said some of the clothes appear almost new and barely used.
Most everything costs between $2-$3, like jeans and tops, but there will also be a $1 rack, she noted.
The sale also includes sports gear, like baseball pants, basketball shoes and soccer and baseball cleats.
“We have quite a good assortment of sports shoes,” Lindley said.
Noah’s Ark also has backpacks and insulated lunchboxes/lunchsacks and other back-to-school items to equip any age student.
“We have lots of children’s books, puzzles and games as well,” she said.
Lindley said that twice weekly, she is posting photos of some of the items for sale on the Noah’s Ark Thrift Store Facebook page.
In addition, the store will offer free hotdogs for kids.
For those cleaning out their closests, Lindley said the store is also accepting kid’s clothes and sports uniforms and equipment, prior to the Aug. 10 event.
Noah’s Ark is located at located at 208 N.W. 2nd St. in Mineral Wells.
