The members of the Millsap Heritage Society are ready for visitors for their second annual Millsap Log Cabin Days.
Festivities kick off Saturday morning, 7-9 a.m., with a free campfire breakfast at the Fuller-Millsap Cabin, in downtown Millsap. Several displays will be on view, including different types of barbed wire, arrow heads and wagons to help set the spirit of the past.
Sons of the Confederate will be lending a hand with breakfast and showing other skills during the day. Also, there will be folks giving demonstrations of candle making, tomahawk tactics and flint fire starting during the day. In addition, there will be musicians playing and singing from the front porch of the log cabin.
A trail ride will start at 8 a.m. and return by noon, from Walden Farm and Ranch Supply, located at 201 Fairview Road in Millsap. Anyone interested in details for the ride should contact (940) 682-4667 for more information.
There will be several activities for the younger children, such as roping, a sand box treasure hunt and a kiddie pedal tractor pull.
Tractors will roll at 2 p.m. Trophies will be awarded for the tractor pull.
Throughout the day, docents will give guided tours of the Fuller-Millsap and first Post Office cabins. There will be food vendors and a variety of booths that include: Lone Star Pickers, jewelry, canned hot sauce, a toy store, plants, crocheted items, Casseroles to Go and raffles drawings.
All proceeds go towards the preservation and future growth of the Millsap Heritage Society.
