Locals interested in experiencing an authentic pow-wow in the tradition of the 19th century are invited to a unique event at Texas Star RV Park Saturday.
The park, located at 4586 U.S. Highway 281 South, will host experts in story telling, archery, fire starting, flint knapp-in, yarn spinning, and many more historic trades.
Food vendor Clyde Vaughn will be on hand with Indian tacos and fry bread.
Dancers and drummers are welcome and a blanket dance will accompany the live music.
Additionally, various mountain man and weapons demonstrations are scheduled during the pow-wow, which will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Participants will also be able to take part in a number of raffles.
Texas Star RV Park is located about three miles south of of Mineral Wells and nine miles north of Interstate 20 on U.S. 281.
The event is open to the public, provided all attendees arrive in pre-1840 dress and with historically appropriate camping supplies.
