Boyce Ditto Public Library showcases new resources

Although the Internet is one click away, searching for the right information to get any job done can be a hard task. From looking for how to install light fixtures in a house to writing a research paper, the web has a plethora of resources, but not every resource is useful. This month, Boyce Ditto Public Library is announcing new resources available for free through TexShare Databases.

The word database may seem daunting, but Library Manager Palin Bree says otherwise.

“If I were to meet you on the street and say, ‘I’ve got 17 new databases for you to look at,’ it means nothing to you,” Bree said. “But you tell me, ‘I’ve got to replace all the ceiling fans, and do you know what they want to charge for that?’ [I would say], ‘Well why don’t you do it yourself, have you ever looked at [TexShare Databases]? Have you ever looked at how easy it is to do it if your mount is already up there?’ It’s a different thing if you think of them not as databases, but [as] magazines that were edited for content. It’s a huge resource.”

To access TexShare Databases, all Palo Pinto County residents have to do is obtain a free library card. BDPL also accepts library cards from Weatherford, Azle, Springtown, Millsap and East Parker County libraries.

One of the highlights to the new additions is LearningExpress, which contains a multitude of resources including:
