By Dr. Gail Haterius
During the February board meeting, Dr. Haterius presented the District’s very first inductee into the newly organized Apple Corps program. The Apple Corps program rewards excellence in teaching by honoring outstanding Mineral Wells ISD teachers. This is the District’s highest and most elite recognition. The administration seeks to honor exceptional classroom teachers who demonstrate leadership, innovation and dedication to the students of Mineral Wells ISD.
This honorary program will induct five teachers each year during a special ceremony at the District’s Board of Trustees monthly meetings.
These highly regarded educators are chosen from a pool of teachers who have been nominated by their peers at each campus.
The first Apple Corps-Excellence in Teaching honoree for 2014 was Donna Henderson.
Board President Joe Ruelas read the proclamation welcoming Mrs. Henderson into the program. Also in attendance were her family, friends and colleagues.
We commend Donna Henderson for making a difference in the lives of our students and praise her for all her hard work and commitment to Mineral Wells ISD. She is a wonderful example of the phenomenal teachers that represent our school and an excellent ambassador for the teaching profession.
