Mineral Wells police received the report of a stolen truck in the 2500 block of S.E. 6th Street.
Investigators spoke with the complainant, who explained an acquaintance asked to borrow the vehicle. According to police, the truck’s owner denied the request and soon after went to sleep.
Upon waking, reports indicate the complainant noticed missing keys and found the truck was not parked outside.
Authorities recovered the truck Wednesday, a week after it was reported stolen, in Mineral Wells. As of Friday, police had identified a suspect but had not yet made an arrest in the case.
According to a Mineral Wells police report filed recently, several items were taken during a burglary in the 4100 block of U.S. Highway 180 East.
Police said an unknown subject forced open the back door and took weapons including a semiautomatic pistol and a number of collector’s knives. Police said a collection of jewelry was also taken from the location.
