Commissioners approve annual MOW grant

In a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, Palo Pinto County Commissioners authorized a grant for Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County.

A representative from Meals on Wheels said the $5,500 grant will allow the area organization to better provide for seniors in need. Meals on Wheels currently serves 50,000 meals a year to county residents.

In other business, commissioners:

• Approved request to re-plat Phase 3, Section 5, Lots 555-R & 556-R of The Hills Above Possum Kingdom Lake Subdivision.

• Approved request to re-plat Lots 149 & 150 in Phase VIII of The Cliffs Subdivision.

• Approved request to re-plat Phase 3, Section 5A, Lots 748-R & 749-R of The Hills Above Possum Kingdom Lake Subdivision.

• Approved request to re-plat Phase 3, Section 5, Lots 636-R, 637-R & 638-R of The Hills Above Possum Kingdom Lake Subdivision.

• Approved request to vacate an amendment to the subdivision plat for 7R Ranch as recorded in Volume 9, Page 210, Slide 776 of the Palo Pinto County Plat Records and issue order.

• Approved request to re-plat Block A, Lot 23 in Phase 2 of the 7-R Ranch Subdivision.



• Approved request to re-plat Block B, Lot 9 in Phase 2 of the 7-R Ranch Subdivision.

• Approved request to re-plat Block A, Lot 23 in Phase 2 of the 7-R Ranch Subdivision.

• Approved request to re-plat Block B, Lot 9 in Phase 2 of the 7-R Ranch Subdivision.

• Approved an amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Level 5 Design Group.

• Unanimously rejected bids for Life Safety and Electrical Renovations for the Palo Pinto County Courthouse. Only one bid was submitted and was significantly more than commissioners expected. They plan to open bidding again soon.

• Held a public hearing for the lease of mineral rights for 4.51 acres described in Vol. 590, Page 55, in Palo Pinto County Records. Commissioners are reviewing bids, one of which offered $500 per mineral acre.

• Approved request by TARGA Midstream Services to bore Holt Road.

• Approved request to correct spelling of “Chism Trail” (Pct. 3).

• Approved contract with CopSync’s System.

• Approved purchase of Toughbooks for Palo Pinto County constables.

• Approved vacation/sick leave rollover report for fiscal year 2013.

• Approved contract with Block Vision.

• Approved HRA agreements.

• Approved disposition of assets under LGC 263.152.

• Approved Texas Effective Absentee Systems for Elections Grant with Interlocal Agreement for Contractual Obligations and Voting Equipment and Supplies Received. The agreement, through Rockwall County, will allow absentee voters, especially soldiers, to more easily vote by downloading an online ballot and mailing it back.

• Approved certification of Palo Pinto County District Attorney Forfeiture Report.

• Discussed options for lease agreement for Rhodes Ranch repeater.

• Lifted the county-wide burn ban.
