Bullets football team up to help West victims

Members of the Texas Bullets are organizing an effort to collect necessities locally to be sent to those affected by Wednesday’s fertilizer explosion in West.

According to information provided to the Index by the local football team, crews will be on hand to begin delivering the goods Friday night.

Those interested in donating bottled water, clothes, shoes, bathroom tissue, toys, baby food, diapers, or non-perishable food can bring donations to Holiday Cleaners, 614 Palo Pinto St., in Weatherford.

A collection will also take place Saturday, beginning at noon, at Ram Stadium prior to the Bullets’ next scheduled game.

“Let’s not just send prayers,” said Team Captain Robbie Williams, “let’s do something more to help.”

Bullets Owner Jeromy Puckett said he expects fans will share in his desire to assist fellow Texans in their time of need.

“We have great fans that support the Bullets each and every week,” he said. “Now it’s time to give back and support the town and people of West.”
