It’s Lock Up Time

Annual Jail & Bail event begins Wednesday

You might want to carry some extra cash this week, or look into buying insurance.

As happens every year during the Mineral Wells Pro Rodeo is the Jail & Bail fundraiser.

This year’s event will again take place in the parking lot of the eastside Dairy Queen at 2300 E. Hubbard St.

Lock up times are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday-Friday.

This year’s Jail & Bail is being run by Palo Pinto General Hospital. Relay for Life is a beneficiary of the event.

You must be 18 years old to issue a warrant for someone’s arrest, which costs $10 to execute. To stay completely out of jail costs $20, or you can bail out for $10 after spending a minimum of 30 minutes behind bars (15 minutes for good behavior.)

Jailbirds are responsible for their own transportation after release.

Jail-free insurance can be purchased for $50 to cover all three days; $25 per arrest; or a business can buy $200 coverage to cover all employees over the three days.

For insurance information or purchase call 940-328-6481 or 940-328-6531.
