Locals report residential armed robbery

According to a Mineral Wells police report, filed Friday, two residents in the 1300 block of S.E. 2nd Street were robbed by “gun point” at their home.

The Mineral Wells Police Department said officers were dispatched to the residence and spoke to the two victims.

The victims said three individuals came to their front door. One of the uninvited visitors was an acquaintance, the report shows, and the residents allowed him to come inside.

The other two – one male and one female – forced their way in behind him, the complainants reported. They added that one held a handgun and the other was carrying a can of mace.

A police spokesperson said the suspects entered the residence and demanded money.

According to reports, one victim realized the handgun was fake and began to fight with the robber. At that point, the third intruder sprayed the complainant with mace and all three made a quick getaway.

Police said the suspect sprayed only one victim, ending the altercation and allowing the robbers to escape.

The trio made off with about $400, officers reported. As of Monday, the suspects were still at large.
