Library’s Summer Reading Program in home stretch

From staff reports

Boyce Ditto Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is still going strong and loaded with fun.

On Friday, starting at 10:30 a.m., kids and adults will have another chance to meet members of the animal kingdom, through Zooniversity.

Voted “Best of the Metroplex,” Zooniversity seeks to educate audiences on zoology. Come early for a seat.

Here’s what else is in store for the final weeks of the program:

• July 20, 10 a.m. – Anime Day; ages 13 and up.

• July 27, 10:30 a.m. – Kid’s Summer Ending Celebration at Lamar Elementary Cafeteria featuring a performance by Snake Encounters, reader recognition and a prize giveaway.

• Aug. 1 – Last day for teens and adults to turn in reading logs.

• Aug. 2, 4:30 p.m. – Teen and adult summer ending concert and prize drawing.
