STRAWN – Strawn Mayor Carl Frazier said residents of the city were still being required to boil water Thursday before ingesting or cooking with it.
The order resulted from a blockage in the water system, first reported Wednesday.
“We’re still in the process of trying to ... pump enough water from the lake to the treatment plant that will get us by until we fix the main line,” Frazier said. “We’re shooting for some time after lunch [Friday].”
The Palo Pinto County Disaster Relief Team has organized a water collection point at the Palo Pinto Baptist Association, 1300 S.W. 4th Avenue, in Mineral Wells. Collection efforts will continue through Monday.
Appreciative of the initial response, Frazier said residents face a continuing need for bottled water.
