Jail and Bail kicks off today

The only local fundraiser allowing residents to lock up their family and friends is back and will continue until Friday afternoon.

Benefitting the Mineral Wells Merchants Association, the Jail and Bail event will take place at 2300 East Hubbard Street on the east side of Dairy Queen between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. today through Friday.

The cost to have someone "arrested" is $10. Jailbirds can choose to serve their 15- to 30-minute sentence before posting $10 bail or double the donation to avoid jail altogether.

Those arrested are responsible for their own transportation back to work and the association is not responsible for any accidents that occur at the jail location or during transportation.

For more information, call (940) 325-5945, (940) 682-5336 or (940) 682-5119.
