Congress has brought forth a New Farm Bill. As Stan Bevers says, “new is a very good description.” Many aspects such as direct payments have been eliminated. Farm Bill changes will require choices and decisions that will have longterm affects. It is early in the life of the new bill, but producers will want to hear and get a feel for the changes; it is going to different.
Also, the Hay, Beef and Forage Day will spend time on economic outlook from the agricultural view point as well as the economy as a whole.
The day will also include agribusiness product displays and a noon meal sponsored by FMC Feeds and Supply and Young County Farm Bureau. The cooking skill from FMC Feeds and Supply is always a Hay Day highlight.
Lastly, TDA continuing education credit hours will be provided to producers toward their TDA Pesticide License requirements. If you need more information or have questions contact the Young County office of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service at 940.549.0737.
