Mineral Wells Police responded to two incidents last weekend, both of which oddly involved the passenger-side window of a car.

The first was on Friday night at 10 p.m. Police report a woman and her daughter were driving to the E-Z Mart on SE 25th Ave when the daughter asked her mother to pull over because she saw someone she knew: a 19-year-old white male. Police said the man walked up to the car and, after an undetermined amount of time, reached inside the passenger’s window, grabbed $40 out of her hand and ran away.

The victim was not harmed, so the case went down as a theft. Police said the case has been assigned to a detective.

The second incident was at a birthday party in the wee hours of Saturday morning. This party, like so many, featured readily available alcohol. Police report at 4:51 a.m. one of the party-goers lost his temper and proceeded to hurl a beer bottle clear through the passenger-side window of one of the cars at the party.

MWPD arrested the beer pitcher for criminal mischief.
