With Sampley stopped in the backyard, the officer ordered him to get on the ground, to which he complied. With his tazer fixed on Sampley and awaiting backup, the officer asked Sampley why he ran. Sampley insisted he had a blue warrant.
When backup arrived, the officers put Sampley in handcuffs and took his ID from his pocket to run his name through dispatch and check for this alleged warrant. Sampley was clear with absolutely no warrants to his name, but instead ended up with an evading-arrest charge and a free ride to Mineral Wells City Jail.
