Leadership Mineral Wells ends year with Center of Life donation

Mineral Wells Index

— At a Nov. 13 luncheon at the Mineral Wells Woman’s Club, Leadership Mineral Wells Class 18 celebrated the conclusion of its year of learning about and working for the community.

Leadership Mineral Wells is a program of the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce. This year’s program was underwritten by Titan Bank, with day sponsorships from Texas Farm Bureau Insurance and PECOFacet.

A highlight of the luncheon was the class’s presentation of a check for $3,333 to Mineral Wells Center of Life, which works to alleviate poverty through faith, education, and mentoring. The class “ran” for the Center of Life in the Clark Gardens 5K, accepting donations from friends and businesses, as its required class project.

In opening remarks, Chamber Executive Director Beth Henary Watson noted how the leadership program had evolved through the years from a five-month program to the nine-month program it is today, covering everything from tourism and economic development to small business and state government.

Leadership Mineral Wells participants for 2012 included executives, human resource professionals, educators, bookkeepers, public servants, and small business owners.

The 22 graduates are: Jodie Barnes (Corner Post Financial Planning), Kelli Buschow (HydroScience Technologies), Marcia Carpenter (Armor Self Storage), Anglea Carter (Corrections Corporation of America), Pam Caudle (Texas Farm Bureau Insurance), Lorraine Crutcher (First Financial Bank), Kendra Fowler (Travis Elementary), Janette Green (Palo Pinto County Clerk), Eddie Gregory (First Financial Bank), Kevin Harrison (Mineral Wells City Council), Valerie Hopkins (Weatherford College), Jessica Jones (First State Bank), Tina Kidwell (Cobham Avionics Integrated Systems), Mindy Kram (Kram & Associates, PC), Donna Lee (Titan Bank), Caye Mauney (Palo Pinto General Hospital), Dacey Malone (Titan Bank), Angie Baker (Cobham Avionics Integrated Systems), Ray Mays, Courtney McCollough (Famous Mineral Water Company), Chasity Trejo-Hull (Boyce Ditto Public Library) and Janiel Warner (Palo Pinto General Hospital).
