Mineral Wells Index
Bo, this week’s Pet of the Week from the Mineral Wells Animal Shelter, is a big, sweet male black labrador retriever that needs a loving home where people will pet and play with him frequently.
He is sweet and friendly, according to shelter staff and he “prances” while walking on a leash. He even sits and shakes his paw, gently so he doesn’t scratch his recipient.
Estimated between 3-4 years of age, Bo was found as a stray on S.E. 18th Street. Because he’s neutered his adoption fee is reduced to $21.
Gentle, intelligent and family-friendly, Bo wants to please. Originally from Canada, the lab continues to be the most popular breed in the United States, according to American Kennel Club registration statistics. Because of its aptitude to please its master the breed excels as guide dogs, as part of search-and-rescue teams or in narcotics detection.

Need a great pet for Christmas? Next Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8-9, the animal shelter will host a holiday adoption, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
