Little League opening ceremonies, Pee Wee Football sign up slated

The 2008 Mineral Wells Little League Associations opening ceremonies are slated on Saturday while sign ups for the Optimist Club Pee Wee Football League are set to start.

The following is a look at the Mineral Wells Little League Association opening ceremonies and the Optimist Club Pee Wee Football League sign ups:

Opening ceremonies for the 2008 season are scheduled at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Chicken Express T-Ball Field, in the West City Park

All of the Mineral Wells Little League softball and baseball teams and their coaches will be on hand for the opening ceremonies.

The Mineral Wells Little League Association has made a number of improvements during the off-season, according to little league spokesman Shawn McDougal.

“We’ve got new bleacher covers at three fields and we’ve totally renovated the restrooms,” he said. “We’ve order new scoreboards for four fields. We hope to have the new scoreboard ready to go by Saturday.”

A full slate of softball and baseball season openers will be played after the opening ceremonies.

Pee Wee Football League sign ups set April 16
Registration is set to start on for the 2008 Mineral Wells Optimist Club Pee Wee Football League.

Players and cheerleaders can sign up for the Pee Wee Football League on April 16, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Mineral Wells Optimist Clubhouse.
