Record-shattering season tickets sales are expected for the 2008 football season at MWHS.

The first full season of play at Ram Stadium, a promising young team of football players as well as a coaching staff that is as good as any staff in the state are just a few of the reasons ticket sales could be brisk.

Mineral Well’s first football season in the new District 6-4A alignment is a another plus for the Rams and another reason season tickets sales should be strong.

Season tickets for five Mineral Wells home games cost $25 each, according to MWHS spokesperson Rhonda Small.

Last year’s season ticket holders can purchase season tickets for the new season from Small at Mineral Wells High School between Aug. 1 and Aug. 15 between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Other fans can purchase season tickets on Aug. 15.

Season ticket holders will have seats for home games between Mineral Wells and teams from Midlothian, Saginaw High School, Boswell High School, Haltom City Birdville and Aledo.

The Rams are also set to scrimmage the Burkburnett Bulldogs on Aug. 22 at Ram Stadium.

The Rams homecoming game against the Saginaw High School Roughriders is scheduled on Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Small’s office at Mineral Wells High School will be open 7:30 p.m.-4:30 p. m. Monday-Thursday.

Season tickets will also be on sale on Friday’s at MWHS between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Small’s office will be closed between 12 noon and 1 p.m. each day for lunch.

Notes ... Small can be reached for more information at: 325-4408.

The Rams are getting ready for the new season during a summer conditioning program, according to Rams head football coach David Bourquin.

Bourquin is set to begin his 36th season as a high school head football coach.

The Rams coach said the conditioning program will continue for two more weeks.

Two-a-days at Mineral Wells High School are set to start at on Aug. 11 at 8 a.m.

“We workout at 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.,” the coach said. “Our only scrimmage is in Mineral Wells against Burkburnett on Aug. 22,” he said.
