Third-quarter run lifts MW past Graham

The Mineral Wells Rams outscored the Graham Steers by a 20-8 margin in the third quarter Tuesday night and then held on to claim a 60-57 come-from-behind victory in front of a large crowd in the Ram Gym.

With the win, Mineral Wells ran its season record to 3-0 heading into Thursday’s game with Canyon Randall in the first round of the Randall Invitational Tournament.

Graham, led by guard Britton Stuckey, got off to a quick start against the Rams. The Steers, sparked by 16 first-half points by Stuckey, raced to a 34-33 halftime lead.

Mineral Wells took control late in the third, reeling off a 9-0 run in the final 3:50 of the stanza to take a 53-42 cushion.

Graham scored a 15-7 run in the fourth quarter.

Jordan Massie and Beau Bridgeman led MWHS, scoring 14 and 13, respectively.
