For the third consecutive season, the Mineral Wells Lady Rams soccer team qualified for the Class 4A playoffs, ending another successful season.
Monday night at the Mineral Wells High School auditorium, head coach John Tuggle handed out top team awards and honored each girls’ soccer player.
Senior Molly Clarke, a four-year starter, earned this season’s Most Valuable Player award. Clarke was also a first-team, All-District 12-4A selection in 2013 after scoring five goals and recording five assists in district play.
Along with the MVP award were the offensive and defensive player of the year awards.
Senior Sami Stevens, who led the Lady Rams with seven goals in district play, was selected as the Lady Rams 2013 Offensive Player of the Year.
She also earned an all-district honorable mention.
The Lady Rams Defensive Player of the year was three-year starter Emily Clingings, who also made the all-district second team on defense.
Senior midfielder Bailey Thomas was chosen as the “Ram Pride” winner, and sophomore Mason Malone was selected as Newcomer of the Year.
Malone joined Clarke on the all-district, first team.

In a game that saw the Mineral Wells Lady Rams jumped out to a big lead only to lose their advantage, it took three veteran MWHS players to get the team on track for the win.
