The honors keep rolling in for the Mineral Wells High School soccer teams.
The Rams and Lady Rams have qualified for the playoffs the last three years, and with that success has come several postseason awards.
This season the boys’ and girls’ teams combined to put 22 players on the All-District 12-4A teams, and now have placed seven on the all-state, all-academic list.
The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) and the United States Marine Corp proudly announce the THSCA Academic All-State Soccer teams for 2013.
The teams are selected by a point system that awards points for GPA, class rank and SAT or ACT score. The student/athletes are then placed on teams according to the number of points they have earned.
The Elite team represents the highest point total that can be achieved.
Criteria required to be nominated is must be a senior with an overall GPA of 92 or above, including grades 9-12 and the first six weeks of grade 12; be a member of the team in good standing at the time of nomination; and be of good moral character.
Rams seniors Caleb Bandy and Gerardo Moya each made the boys’ first team, with Lady Rams seniors Molly Clarke and Bailey Thomas making the girls’ second team.
Earning all-state, all-academic honorable mention from MWHS were seniors Eric Parker, Juana Velasquez and Flor Turcios.

In the Holiday Hills Country Club Guys and Dolls tournament, locals Denny and Sherry Hall turned in rounds of 77 and 73 to take first place in the opening round and second place on Sunday in the fourth flight. George and Linda Hutton turned in two solid rounds to place both days. The twosome shot 71 and 72 to take first place on Saturday and second place on Sunday in the second flight.
GRAPEVINE – The Mineral Wells High School cheerleaders attended the Universal Cheerleaders' Association's cheer camp in Grapevine two weeks ago and proved that spirit will definitely be high at every Rams and Lady Rams sporting event this coming school year.

BURLESON – The Mineral Wells Water Moccasins city swim team was in action once again last weekend, June 21, at their second meet of the season in Burleson.
HHCC to host major event this weekend
This weekend, June 28-29, Holiday Hills Country Club's Members Golf Association will host the first "Guys and Dolls" tournament of the season – a large tournament with a sizable cash prize.
