8th grade ladies take 2 of 3

On Dec. 16, the Mineral Wells junior High School eighth grade A-team Lady Rams defeated the Acton Lady Pirates, 29-23.

Lady Ram post Kaylee Gregory had a big game with 15 points followed by Lady Ram point guard Sunni Lemley with seven points.

Other Lady Rams scoring were post Montana Choate with four points wing Brittany Barbee with two points and wing Kaitlyn Blue with one point.

Leading the Lady Rams in rebounds were Kaylee Gregory with 10, Sunni Lemley with seven, Mia Ragland with two and Cali Pilgrim with one. Leading the Lady Rams in steals were Sunni Lemley with four, while Madison Gibbs, Kaylee Gregory, Pond Blackmer and Kaitlyn Blue each had two.

8th C ladies win

The 8th grade “C” team ladies defeated the Acton Lady Pirates, 17-10.

Leading the Lady Rams in scoring was Esperanza Carbajal with nine points, followed by Shaylee Pesqueda with six and Savannah Tuggle with two.

Leading the Lady Rams in rebounds was Savannah Tuggle with six rebounds followed by Destiny Bell and Esperanza Carbajal, each with five. Jordan Boyd recorded three rebounds and Cassidy Parker finished with two.

Leading the Lady Rams in steals was Shaylee Pesqueda with five and Erlene Ramos with four. Other Lady Rams with steals were Destiny Bell Jordan Boyd, Savannah Tuggle, Macy West, and Esperanza Carbajal.

 8th B ladies fall

The Lady Rams 8th grade “B” team Lady Rams fell in a close game to Acton, 31-28.

The Lady Rams led by 2-5 points throughout most of the game.

In the first half the Pirates were able to stay close thanks to some excellent free throw shooting.

Late in the fourth quarter the Lady Pirates were able to scratch their way to a 31-28 win.

“This was our best game of the season with some outstanding play by everyone on the team,”Lady Rams coach Jeff Brumfield said.

Tatum Wharton led the Lady Rams with eight points 8 points, with Angle Beavers adding six.

Kelsey Davis lead the team with eight rebounds, and Angle Beavers had six steals.
